Cape Canaveral--Elon Musk can be hard to like, especially if you work for him. Today, employees struck back.
Strapped into a brand new top-of-the-line Tesla Model X Plaid, Musk was sent into low-Earth orbit with his car attached to a SpaceX test rocket.
The team plans to fire retro engines after Musk enjoys a spectator view but for a mere 3 orbits. The heat of re-entry will incinerate the Tesla at a temperature approaching 1477° C (2691° F).
While his cars are the pinnacle of good design, this one will be sacrificed to promote loftier goals. A memorial service has not been planned.
