About Us

Captain John Crocker has been fishing since childhood, initially on Long Island Sound and, for the last 15+ years, in the waters surrounding Martha's Vineyard. He resides on the Vineyard with his wife and children. Professionally, Captain Crocker is a respected member of the island boating and fishing community.

Captain Crocker's vessel, the Jean Marie, is an exceptionally seaworthy 33’ "Crowley-Beal" built in Maine. Being a displacement hull "Downeast" boat design, she offers unparalled comfort in rough seas compared to planing hull boats.

She is moored in the shelter of Lake Tashmoo with easy access to Martha's Vineyard Sound. She is diesel-powered with sufficient range to fish just about anywhere for just about anything. She will comfortably handle 5 or 6 adults or 2 adults and up to 4 children for a personalized Vineyard fishing experience.

The Jean Marie is well-equipped with the latest marine electronics and safety gear:

  • VHF marine communications
  • GPS marine chartplotter
  • RADAR with map overlay
  • SONAR with color display
  • EPIRB emergency signal beacon
  • personal life jackets with signal lights
  • life raft
  • fire extinguishers
  • meets or exceeds all USCG requirements

She is also set up with sufficient creature comforts to help make your fishing trip more enjoyable:

  • head (marine toilet)
  • bunk (in case your kids need a nap)
  • cover from the sun and weather
  • fishing tackle and bait included with charters
  • iced storage for keeper fish
  • sink with hot and cold running fresh water
